Hexagon Weaving Loom Potholder (basic weave)

| To get started, tye your yarn around the start peg. Lace your yarn around peg "A", see photo to right. | ![]() |
| Next, lace your yarn in a figure 8 pattern around the peg on the opposite side of the loom and back. Guide your yarn behind the next peg. | ![]() |
| Continue in the figure "8" pattern, until you reach the bottom of the loom. | ![]() |
| Lace your yarn in front of the bottom-left peg. At the star, turn your entire loom in a counter-clockwise direction, until the star is on top. | ![]() |

| Lace your yarn in the same figure "8" pattern as you did above. | ![]() |
| When you get to the bottom, lace your yarn in front of the next peg and again turn the loom, so the star is once again on top. | ![]() |
| Continue in the figure "8" pattern. | ![]() |
| Continue in the figure "8" pattern. | ![]() |
| When you reach the bottom this time, you will be back where you started. You have completed your first layer. | ![]() |
| The thickness of your potholder will be determined by the number of layers you weave. In this sample I was using a slightly bulky yarn and completed five layers. The finished piece is nice and full. | ![]() |
